Every year on the first Sunday of April, Geologist’s Day is celebrated – a professional holiday of specialists related to geological sciences and specialties. The holiday is celebrated in the countries of the former Soviet Union, including Ukraine.
This holiday was invented in the Soviet Union by decree of March 31, 1966, to thank all the geologists of the country for their work. It was decided to celebrate the day in April, because this month the first expeditions and work with the earth begin.
